Navratri Day 1 : Maa Shailputri Significance and Recipe for day

  | Festival Special

Maa Shailputri, also known as Sati Bhavani or Hemavati, is the daughter of the Himalayas (Shail means mountain, and Putri means daughter). She is the embodiment of purity, innocence, and courage.

Maa Shailputri rides a white bull, symbolizing righteousness and strength, and carries a trident in her right hand and a lotus flower in her left.
