HOW TO MAKE NUTRITIOUS KHEER

Ingredients 

  • 1 Bowl roasted Rajagara
  • 1 Bowl roasted Makhana
  • 1 Litre Fresh coconut milk
  • 8 to 10 Pieces of Chopped dates
  • 5 chopped Anjeer
  • 3 tsp Chopped almonds and cashew
  • Kesar flakes as per requirement
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • Chopped Pistachio for garnishing
  • Method

    1. Now keep coconut milk for boiling and after 10 minutes add dates and Anjeer
    2. Now let it boil for 10 minutes and then add rajagara and makhana and boil for 10 minutes
    3. Now add kesar flakes and cardamom powder
    4. Now take a serving vessel and add Kheer and garnish with pistachio and then serve it
    5. It is very easy to prepare and also very healthy.
    HEALTH BENEFITS OF MAKHANA
    This is a delicious Indian sweet made with makhana. Makhana is usually used during fasting to make different types of sweet and savory dishes. Even plain roasted makhana is a great healthy snack as it is very light to digest and taste good. Makhana is derived from water lily plant, the puffed lotus seeds are fox nuts. Makhana is very light in weight and are reasonably priced as compared to other dry fruits and nuts.

    Makhana is rich in calcium, Iron, zinc, Phosphorous etc. and have many Ayurvedic and medicinal properties. The most common use of Makhana is to cure diarrhea and helps to improve and increase the weak appetite. It is also very good to use during pregnancy and as a postnatal food. It is very high in calcium so good for arthritis patients and old age people. It is also a good source of antioxidants so makhana should be consumed not only during fasting but as a daily routine food in some way.
