Navratri Day 4 : Maa Kushmanda Significance and Recipe for day

  |

Maa Kushmanda is depicted as Ashtabhuja, meaning she has eight arms, each holding symbolic items such as a bow, arrow, mace, lotus, kamandalu (water pot), and a jar of nectar. She rides a lion and radiates a golden light that represents the sun’s core. When the universe was enveloped in darkness, it was the smile of Maa Kushmanda that brought forth light and created the cosmos.

Her name is derived from three Sanskrit words:
- Ku (little)
- Ushma (warmth or energy)
- Anda (cosmic egg)

The color associated with this day is Blue, symbolizing prosperity and peace.
